My life when I am not behind my cameras ~ Getting to know the Photographer!

Can you believe it? I actually have a life outside of photographing beautiful women, children and families and squishy little babies! I would love to let y'all in on what makes me ME and share a little about my sweet family.

I have always felt that getting to know your photographer will allow you to be more comfortable and relaxed through out each session. While I am a huge people person and I get along with most everyone, I know that my personality isn't for everyone. I know that there will be clients who come long that I walk away knowing they will be life long friends before I have even photographed them and there will also be the ones who I know instantly that we aren't a great match and I refer them to other great photographers in my area.

I love to show people the beauty within them through photography. To allow my clients to see themselves as to gorgeous person, friend, mom or husband that the people around them recognize but they may not see. I am very passionate about my work and most of my clients can feel and see that almost immediately. What can I say? I might wear my heart on my sleeve.

I am a mom or two incredible and smart children and a wife to the best husband I could ask for. I have moments (mostly when I first meet new people or if I am in am uncomfortable situation) where I am quiet and reserved and I keep to myself. I can be very excited and energetic at times also. Overall I think that most people would describe me as a happy and optimistic person. I believe that life is to short to not be true to who you are and I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. I like to challenge myself and while I struggle with it sometimes, I love to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things. I am a huge outdoor enthusiast. Most of the weekend I am not booked up I spend in the mountains camping with my family and friends. Hiking and exploring this beautiful place (Colorado) I call home truly makes my heart happy. I also very much enjoy traveling and exploring places I have never been and spots that are dear to my heart. More than anything, the one thing that trumps all for me is spending time with my family!

I have so much respect and admiration for my husband Corey, he is one of the most hard working men I have ever met in my life. He would do anything to make sure that our kids and I were happy and he selflessly always put himself last. He is so supportive and encouraging with all of my crazy ideas and is on board 90% of the time. He trusts my opinion and allows me to be the best version of me that I can be. He served in the US Army for eight years as an infantryman with much pride and never a complaint. He busted his butt working in the oilfield in the insane heat in south TX for a couple years. Now, the most challenging but ultimately most rewarding thing he has done is dedicating himself to furthering his education. College as a grown man presents itself with many more difficulties than one could imagine and he somehow keeps his head high and gets through each one. I couldn't ask for a better man for my children to call dad and to spend the rest of my days with.

The one who first made me a momma, my wild and crazy girl, my love bug, and one and only little lady. My daughter Calleigh Mae has brought so much happiness and joy into my life and has taught me a love that I never even knew could exist. She is so full of energy and is so outgoing and spunky. There is never a dull moment when she is around! She will be five years old this November and I can honestly say its been five of the best years of my life having her in it. While she knows how to push my limits and she intentionally does all the things she knows drive me insane, I cant help but look at her and smile.

My son Jake made his entrance into this world just ten days before his sisters first birthday. Yes, you read that right! They are less than a year apart. I was so anxious to meet him and hold him in my arms. I was terrified and excited all in one. I couldn't imagine being able to love another child as much as I already loved my daughter. Boy was I wrong. The moment I laid my eyes on this handsome little guy he stole my heart. He is the sweetest little guy with a HUGE heart. He definitely completes our family. None of us would be the same with out him. His smile and laugh are so contagious and he brings so mush joy to all of the lives around him. He is fearless and keeps me on my toes daily. He and his sister are both the subjects of sooo many of my images (I cherish every single one of them) and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful children to love and to complete my life.

Family Photo

While being a mom and a wife has had a huge role in making me the person I am today, I was blessed with a big wonderful family. I have four beautiful sisters and one awesome brother who taught me so much about life and though they may not have completely understood my reasoning for different things they stood by me and loved me for me. My parents and grandparents have been my rock and my biggest cheerleaders in life and I know that I wouldn't be half the person I am today without them. I am lucky to have such an incredible support system and so many people to push me to reach for the stars and achieve anything I put my mind to.

Folks, welcome to my life when I am not behind my camera... and computer! Basically I am an open book and I am happy to share my story with anyone who is interested in learning about me. I hope y'all have enjoyed getting to know the very special people who make me me as much as I enjoy having each one of them in my world!
